Cool crank pulley/serpentine belt

My '89 F-150 spun the serpentine belt off last night, damaging the crank pulley in the process. All the components in the train rotate freely except the power steering unit. It seems tight. Is this enough to make this happen?
The engine is running fine...not locked up or making strange noises.

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Buck

Buck,

Do you have air? I have had an A/C compressor seize up and cause this. It would only do it when the A/C clutch was energized. The clutch normally freewheels when the A/C is off.

You should be able to easily turn the power steering pump by hand. Turn it clockwise, the way the belt would turn it.
