Anyone ever use one of these specialty fuel injector cleaning service places? Found a few places with good websites that came recommended, but wanted to see if you guys had a recommendation as well.

 

Are you talking about on engine or off engine?

 

Why not try a couple bottles of Chevron Techron or Gumout for high mileage engines first. They will help.

BG and Motorvac are tops around here. They will chemically treat the injection system. If you have any that are fouled, the best method is sonic cleaning It does require the injectors to be removed. But it will run like new.

 

Yup...sonic is what im going for. WitchHunter come stay highly recommended, but there’s a couple others I found that’s seem legit as well and a bit cheaper.

 

Have you compared the cost to new or rebuilt injectors?

 

Yup...substantial. Cleaning (which also included new filter basket, all seals and o-rings, and pintle caps if needed) is around $17-$22 per. And, I already have the injectors out and broke five pintle caps in the process due to being stuck. Win-win for me, IMO. I think last I looked, injectors from rock auto were around $70 ea.

Personally used "injector rehab" or something to that effect with good success. They did a flow test before and after and provide a printout of the results

New Motorcraft injectors from Rock Auto are $37.79 each. Remans are around 25 bucks.

They all seem to be about the same. I just picked one. WitchHunter was one that came recommended on some other forums, but they're $5 more per, and on this car it's just maintenance; not really being that picky.

 

I have a shop that does my injectors for around $10 a pop. New filter baskets, o-rings and tips. Also comes with a flow sheet.
I've used them for several cars with great results.
