Post F-150 5.4L Gas MIleage - what's yours?

I am doing a little comparison here on my 99' F-150 5.4L truck. I am getting about 14.4 MPG burning reg. gas. I get roughly 320 miles to the tank. I would greatly appreciate hearing something to compare this with. This truck is stock - no mods - yet.

I checked my mileage on the very first tank of fuel..I was just under 16 mpg (75% city and 25% highway driving). I need to check it again soon.

My sticker says I should get about 15 City and 19 Highway. Not bad for a 5.4L.

My 98 supercab, 5.4L, 3.55 regular rear end averaged just under 14 mpg with mainly city driving.

Loser1,your mileage sounds about like mine.Mine's a '97 5.4L.If I stay @65 or less, on the interstate with few quick starts,I can get about 16-17 mpg.Usually i drive @70-75 with quick starts at all the lights leading to the interstate.Driving like that I've seen a low of about 11 mpg.My best sceario got me 110 miles to a quarter tank, worst about 65.

Cool

My 5700lb truck gets about 16-17 mpg with most of it highway driving at 65-75 mph. I don't think this is bad considering the weight and options I have on the truck. Others I have talked to with 4.2L and 4.6L don't get as good and they can't understand this. I guess littler engines have to work harder to achieve the same working (driving) results which leads to lower milage.

Looks like I'm about the same as everyone else. 14 for city and 18-19 for highway. I check this often, like every single tank I fill up.

I got 14.5mpg on my first tank but I'm pretty sure that's b/c I kept it under 55mph during the break-in. With a lead foot, highway driving(70-80mph) and 2500miles later I get b/t 13 and 14. Although I've dipped into the 11's with lots of city driving.
