$389 for one time use is a pill to swallow, nothings ever easy...
Call Mechanics tools and bits. I know you can get a cheaper option.

I'll call them in the morning. Worst case I think I get a free stream light nano flashlight with the $389 kit....makes me want to buy the kit for that!

I had the ford dealer fix one of my plug threads, paid about $1,500. I'm due for spark plug change but been terrified to do it. Same dealer quoted $350 to change plugs... I need a new dealer

You can always resell it. Its not going to loose that much value to someone who needs it. 50-100 bucks less then you paid for It maybe.

Have you actually tried contacting Galaxy? He has been posting here off and on recently, and he may have a way of renting you what you need even if he's deployed.

Look at it this way:
a) it's broken
b) it needs to be fixed
c) $400.00 is still cheaper than yanking the head and taking it to either a machine shop or replacing it with a new one.

Still sucks you have to do it though.

Good luck.

Give him some time as long as you don't have to get it back on the road immediately.

If you have to drive it, just leave the hole open and unplug the injector. It will sound like hell but it will run on 7 cylinders for local use.

Right - but his wife may be handling his business while he is gone.
