driver side coils

driver side coils

2005 5.4
none of my coils on my driver side are firing. switch them with the passinger side and they will still not fire. how can the coils work on one side and not the other? HELP...

That has something to do with the sensor that tells timing. think its the vss. I am sure some one will chime in.

Not to mention thats highly unusual,,, to have that problem. You sure its the coils????

2005 has an injector problem,,,, but think that only happens on one injector at a time.

That isn't even close, the VSS has nothing to do with the firing of any coils....


none of my coils on my driver side are firing.
Assuming you have correctly diagnosed that its a coil-related issue: Did you check for switched battery power on all the coils on bank 2 (RED/ LT GREEN wire)? If none is found n bank 2 but power is at the bank 1 coils, then you have an open in the wiring harness. If power is present, then the most likely thing is a bad PCM.

Assuming he is on the right track with the coils being bad. What tells the coils to fire,,,,
ok pcm,,, but what tells the pcm its time to fire the coils???

got a code for cam position sensor. autozone had a set but the pigtail did not clip on. ford ones on the way today.hope this fixes it!!!

replaced sensors with OEM ford sensors and still have have the problem! now the the truck is giving me O2 sensor is bad.

ok guys. give me your input. i cleared all the code and took the truck back out for a ride to produce new codes. this is what i got

poo22 cam position actuator A bank 2 timming over retarded
p0171 system to lean bank 1
p0175 system to rich bank 2

no o2 codes this time.

you tube video is making me think it's the VCT seloniod!

any feed back will be great !!!!

VCT seloniod replaced and gave her an oil change. She started right up. problem fixed !!!
