Formerfordman, I never claimed to know grain markets. Only that the performance of my truck is better with straight gas than ethanol. This is an experiment I have conducted regularly and know it to be true. Further, I never mentioned gas prices because I was not trying to enflame the topic with issues from which I cannot speak with certainty. But I believe the ethanol has increased the cost of gas.

My bottom line on this issues is not intended to frustrat the small farmers situation. I simply do not care for government intrusion. The government is too easily swayed by lobbyists (of various types). True facts and details are frequently hidden to achieve a result.

I am still waiting for someone, with credibility, to show me numbers regarding the reduction in polutants from gas enginers acredited to ethanol.
