Can anyone tell me what is the best repair manual to buy. I've seen references to Haynes manuals on this message board. Is Haynes a good manual for troubleshooting?

Haynes is certainly better than Chiltons. But,if you want top of the line look at the real shop manuals from www.helminc.com.$160 for the set.

Thanks for the info. To start with, I think I'll try Haynes. I called my local parts store and they have the Haynes manual for my truck for $12.88. The price makes me wonder if it has more than a dozen or so pages.

I have a strong feeling I'll end up getting the manual set you recommeded.

No its more like ahundred or so. Yes, they are fine for most everyday maintenance stuff and certainly much cheaper.
