This is an 03 5.4L. What the heck are these for?



I'm puzzled as to what they do. Will probably feel stupid when you tell me but I had to ask...

I can't quite read it - what's the part number on it?

 

It almost looks like an airbag/crash sensor, did a few searches with a partial part number and came up with absolutely nothing. Looked up a few wiring diagrams and it looks to be in the right spot for said sensor. Wish I had a little more info to share with you.

 

Is that the back of your headlight assembly in the picture?

 

Noise suppressor/filter.

 

Yep so you don't get a static on your radio etc.

 

Yep,for RFI noise suppression.

 

Wow ... So I don't feel as stupid as I thought. Never would have guessed that!

There is one on the front of each head.... I guess it kind of makes sense now that I think about it. Where's all the noise generated.... ignition!
