All Out 8 for 8! plug pic added

All 8 out today with 3/8 impact. Engine @ operating temp for about 40 min. Shut it off, removed battery, removed computer. Using impact
Started on front passenger and worked back to firwall. As I took one out, hand threded new one with antiseize in. Driver side was unexpectedly more difficult to get to. Had to take rubber shell off impact wrench to get the back one out. Wrench actually was stuck until I removed the rubber shell. Once all the new were hand threaded in I torqued all to 25 . Reconnected cops and injectors, reinstalled computer and battery, various other things i had removed. I swear it runs better.... Total time was roughly 2.5 hours.

...and I have a Lisle spark lug tool for sale, unused condition!
Thanks to all of you who responded to many questions. Thanks also to f150online.net for being there for me. Group hug?

So here, finally is a pic of the plugs. Driver side on bottom. I spend alot of time idling and short trips around town. I'm amazed at the zero crud build up and believe Marvel Mystery Oil is due some credit!

78k miles.

Very relieved indeed!

I also ran Techron in the last 3 of 5 fill ups. In the other two I ran Marvel Mystery oil. I also used Marvel Mystery Oil about once every other tank or maybe every third. I really believe MMO helped. I will post pics of the plugs soon. Now getting ready for tomorrows inguinal hernia repair...

FYI I had the double hernia repair done a few months ago. Four inch incision bothsides with mesh inserted. Piece of cake I never used any pain meds at all and both of mine were pretty advanced. I was running on the treadmill a week later....Good Luck

Drove mine to my brothers apartment 50 minutes away. Picked up some tools I left the night before while fixing some things.

Drove back. Immediately pulled battery cover. The PCM. And a few vacuum lines. Pulled all COPS and used an air hose to blow the cavities out. Sprayed penetrating oil in and waited about 10 minutes.

At this point I was sweating like a dog on a 85 degree day with an extremely hot engine.

Pulled all spark plugs out with zero problems using a standard socket and wrench.

I don't see why people get so worked up over these engines. I was at 81,000. If you take your time and prepare correctly it's just another day in the shop.

People who have made even more preparations have had a hard time getting them out. I'd simply consider yourself lucky!

Yeah I know

A few mechanics and even Ford themselves told me I was an idiot for attempting it my self on a modular.

I did it just to rub it in their face and to save a few hundred.

How much for the tool? Between my two codes, 12MPG, and 87,000 miles, I figure I better get to changing plugs, coils, and O2 sensors. Dreading changing plugs...

lol don't dread it.

Heat your motor up. Spray some penetrating oil around the spark plug. Take your time. Keep your socket straight, don't twist it crocked and go easy.

People do it all of the time with no problems.

I've posted this before, but I'll post it again. I'm a fleet mechanic for the local utility company. The ONLY time we change plugs in our f-150/250's is when they have a misfire problem. Ours usually burn up plugs or coils around 80k miles (these things run/idle for 8-16 hrs a day) and I haven't broken a plug or heard of anybody breaking a plug yet. We remove ours while the engine is warm to the touch (I'm not gonna burn my supple paws.. lol!!).

BTW. NAPA coils SUCK!
