Well...the Nu Lucky Lisle Tool worked its magic again. Changed all my plugs out today at 89,893 miles and didn't have to use the tool. They were probably about like Nu's pics; possibly a bit worse. I used the warm up, crack, Kroil, wait, and remove method. Gaps on the removed plugs were at least double what the new ones are. New coils too (the Viswhatever 1005s). Runs much better. Now I have to see if it'll keep those pesky 0420 & 0430 codes at bay for more than a week.

Rude, check your PMs.

Great. -Visteons Yea, definitely like what people have been reporting about those coils. It's about time we had an affordable reliable option when it comes to those damn coils.

The 420 and 430. Take it in, I think your still under the emissions warranty ? Not sure, it may end at 80,000 miles. (?) If it's still covered, they have to check them with those DTC's. Free.

I would, but I'm fairly sure they wouldn't cover the Magnaflows...

Nope, - you have leaks then. Even welded they can leak. Need to check that cold. With either a compressor (regulated), shop vac (blower mode) or a leaf blower (electric and adjustable works best). And a squirt bottle of soapy water.

This will show all, - every little leak.

IF your running O2 compliant converters. Your still within factory set parameters, -but yea, the Y has to be tight or it won't fly. You'll get DTC's.

Been reading about that very thing. I just haven't duct taped my shop vac, leaf blower, or air comp to the tail pipe. I have the 94106, I think. Just stuck in the factory piping with a 24" magnaflow muffler. Shoulda got an 18" or even a 14". Not going to go to the garage to look at the box right now. I've had them about 4 years now and the past yer or so this has been a pain. Changed O2 sensors and it showed a heater broken and stuck lean on the other. Replaced again and the 420/430 returned. Then I read Ford decided I'm almost 30k overdue for new plugs. Found this thread and you know the rest.

It's been a while since I hung out here and I remember why. I keep wanting to add a whipple, headers, blah blah blah. Lol
