truck stall

I have got an issue with my 2000 4.6 I've had the truck now like 6 months. PROBLEM: 3-4 times now after driving several minutes i will either slow to turn or stop and put the truck in reverse when the truck stalls. I noticed the rpm drops to like 400. Not a big deal when backing into my driveway, but a different story when cutting across a busy intersection! Truck starts right back up. I just replaced with a new battery. Happened before and after. What you think, just time for a tune up or something I can try.

Probably the IAC valve (Idle Air Control). Read this for directions on cleaning:

I second the IAC valve. I have the same year truck with the same engine. Started doing the same thing. It would die every once in a while when stopping or slowing to make a turn. Also, mine would sometimes lunge forward at a red light (not good, obviously). Cleaned it out several times with carb cleaner and that would work for a while, but the problem would eventually come back. Finally just replaced it and haven't had any trouble since.

Just an update.. Took of the IAC and cleaned, soaked, oiled, cleaned, and q-tipped. I mean it was spotless. Been 5 days without any problems. The idle is much smoother and it stays at a normal rpm. Without a doubt fixed it, for now. Thanks for the info.
