Cool

I used to would use nothing but Chevron 87-93 (depending on gas prices). When my truck started to knock on 87, I switech to 89 or 93. Couldn't stand the thoughts of why this strated all of a sudden. I changed the plugs and filters and solved the problem.

Eventually got fed up with all the known companies (Chevron, Exxon, etc) selling gas 10-20 cents higher than Racetrack. I could get Racetrak 92 octane for $1.12, while Chevron 87 was $1.21 (93 was $1.41). So, I switched. There was some roughness for the first 2-3 tanks but it got better. Do the computers need time to adjust???

Anyhow, from what I hear and read, pure gas(no grain based additives) is gas is gas. So why pay more? I almost certain Racetrak gets their gas from a leading oil company.

Of couse, this is my opinion.

Thumbs up

Here in Texas I use Citgo.93. I've tried the other majors and can find no diffrence milage or performance with Citgo and it is usually cheaper.

I alternate weekly between 93 at Hess and 93 at BP. When I go on long trips my boy gets lobster with all the trimmings (Amoco Crystal Clear Ultimate 93).

Boy? Hmm, my trucks a girl, perhaps we should look into breeding? Have a couple little Rangers running around the yard!
At any rate, I feed Betsy Texaco 93 and have been very happy with it other than the impact on the pocketbook. As I've stated before and will again time after time, if you're worried, concerned about gas milage, buy a toyota or similiar! End of duscussion!
