My eyes are wide open now!, thanks for the very informative posts. I'll never put another fram oil filter on any vehicle again.

I know nothing about oil on the level that you do. But I can say that I have so far been impressed with the Rotella T5 I have been running in my wifes Audi 2.7T(55k miles). It has had castrol synthetic its whole life up until 8-10k ago. Was having issues with high oil temps, build up and a ticking that would develop after it warmed up. After switching to the Rotella, oil temps have dropped back down into the normal range, things are looking a lot cleaner and noises have disappeared. Not sure what the issue was, but it is gone. My guess is that the castrol was not holding up to the heat. Not even the same vehicle, just saying... the T blend oils are nice.
