You could look around but I think the part at ford is about $30. Yours being the metal intake, it doesnt have a 90 degree bend in the rubber connector, instead it is in the hard line. The later years with composite intakes had a longer nipple coming off the intake, which had for a shorter hard line and the 90 was the actual rubber end. So you will be limited on which years you will be able to look for a used one. Most likely going to be 97 98 and 99.

Just a side note.. haha the egr adapter on the manifold side is a expensive little piece, like 40 bucks ridiculous! That is all.

Fix it the redneck way for now - slide a piece of hose over one side, superglue the 2 pieces together, then slide the hose over the splice!

Heavy heat shrink would work for awhile, don't you think ?

For some reason, your idea gave me that one lol.

You bet - if you can find the right size heat shrink. Be careful shrinking it - so you don't melt the pipe!

You guys are priceless! I love it here.

I went to the JY and found 5 different hose variations, one is very close and looks to fit. I found a used Time-Sert kit for a steal locally and once the cylinder is fixed, I'll hopefully have her back together

To give back to the forum, I'll likely offer the kit to rent too.

So today I got into this motor some more. I found that the boots were extremely dirty. Here's a photo of what I'm talking about:

The 2nd photo, it's white from where you can see, to the bottom. And looks to be some rust in the 3 cylinder.

Here's the best part, when taking off cylinder 1s spark plug, it had 5 foot lbs torque.

Looks like you just dodged a bullet on cylinder 1, sounds like it was about to blow out. Cylinder 3 is getting moisture in it somehow. Looks to be moisture (along with a ton of gunk) around that cylinder. Make sure there is no heater hose leaking above or anything else. When you re install the cop's, make sure and put dielectric grease inside each boot (remove them from the cop) and clean the spring ends off real well after the boot goes back on so no dielectric grease stays on the spring. Also, when you have the boots off, look up into the cop where the post is and make sure theres no build corrosion, like this...

If so, clean them real well with electrical cleaner (possibly light sand paper) and a q tip.

Shifty if the guys on here say it will work, I'll gladly work something out with you on that.

I have new motorcraft sparkplugs coming in the mail, should be here anyway day now. COPs, I'm getting 8 new motorcraft ones. I have a few that are new, but have no label on them, they have a clear top and I can see maybe 4 dots on the top if that makes sense?

Once the new SPs are here I'll dig into the rest of the motor and report back with the torque as I'm curious to find out how bad the rest are.

The 97 4.6 intake won't fit, it's non PI and 4.6L
Yours is a PI 5.4L

Where is all that oil build up coming from? Are the valve cover gaskets leaking? If your going to clean all that up, make sure and leave the plugs in. Vacuum out the wells before you pull the plugs.

PI is power intake?

The cylinders are dirty/damp looking from some of the coolant leaking when I took off the TB. I'll have my air compressor fired up and cleaning out those cylinders and all that gunk before removing all the SPs.

Power improved. in 99+ the 5.4's got the PI heads and intake, which added about 35hp I believe. 4.6's didn't see the PI until later years, 02 I think?

Close Toyz - The 5.4L went from 235/335 @ 3000 rpms to 260/350 @ 2500 rpms in 99. The Blown 5.4L in 99 was 360/440 @ 3000 rpms.

The 4.6L went PI in 2001. went from 220 to 231.

Man, that the dirtiest Modular motor I've ever seen. These engines don't generally get that filthy. Oil and rust + coils are a bad mix, - engine needs some care.
