5.4 to 5.0 can ya do it?

will we be able to swap the new engines in our old trucks? 5.0 or the ecoboost. I'm sure the ecoboost would be more of a pain. I love my 04 but would really like to have that 5.0 in it. don't really car about the 6 speed but just the engine swap its self.
I'm sure anything is possible with lots of money and time. or would just be better to buy a 2011?

the 5.0 is swapable for sure. Fords already selling a swap kit. once they start showing up in junk yards it will be able to be done fairly cheap.
5.0 is a modular same mount bolts same bell pattern.

where did you find the swap kit from? will the 5.0 bolt up to my 4 speed tranny? i wonder if the computers and harness will be a problem.

I'm pretty sure I saw the information here on this board.
the engine..

the swap kit..

You would still have to get headers and I'm sure there's other odds and ends that would have to be scrounged up

It is a modular. Built on the same production lines as the 4.6 & 5.4 with the "modular" tooling.

oh dang, here I was hoping for more hand room in the engine bay with a narrower block foot print.

One nice thing about the 5.0 is they moved the alternator off the the lower side freeing up the front center of the engine for some interesting supercharger possibility's..

Very true, I use to work on this very line and I don't think they changed much if anything for the new engine to go down the line. This line did 03/04 Lightning, Australian Falcon V-8's, the new at the time 05 4.6 Mustang engine and the new at the time 3v 5.4! This would be a nice swap to do, I'd like to see it done myself!

It would be cool in my mach I. Maybe the only engine swap I would consider. I like the Cleveland it has.

heres a magna procharger supercharger. Looks like it might replace the lower pleneum so it fits tight inside the bottom of the intake. I cant wait to see these in car and trucks.

I thought about the supercharger but how awesome would it be to have an 04 with a 5.0 lurking under the hood. the 5.0 seems to be a more advance and better motor for the new decade. idk i shall weigh the options between the 5.4 and 5.0...
I just drove a 2011 with the 5.0 but i really didnt get to see what she had because my sales man looked like he was on the verge of death as it was. didnt want to give the old man a heart attack. but what i could tell was that the 5.0 has similar torque as my 5.4 but that may be because of the 6 speed. i plan on going back to really test one out before i consider the swap.
if that 5.0 gets better gas mileage than my 5.4 that would be a plus too. more power and mileage always looks better to my wallet.
