Steve, why is it you are the only one that KNOWS "the truth" about this?

Serious....not trying to be confrontational. Im just lost at how you know this for a fact, yet I have never seen anything, or any professional disproving this. And it seems to be a well known deal from my little bit of research. The theory behind it makes sense to me. And I even venture to say I felt a difference when I did it (with no negative effects). Just because it sounds bogus doesnt make it bogus.

The only thing this procedure would do is re-zero your gas pedal. It will not give you more power or performance. It may remove some "lag" and allow WOT to truly be WOT but at other throttle points your performance will be the same.

Hey guys, I'm new here. Wow what a thread.
I joined your website anyway. Sounds like the kind of madness I enjoy.
If this procedure wasn't so expensive and invasive I would try it. Plus I'm not quite as mechanically inclined.
Well there goes the neighborhood.

If you want to try it, go ahead. But if you haven't taken OBJECTIVE measurments beforehand (like a few dyno runs), you won't know if the "results" you get are objective (real) or subjective (imaginary). The posts between yours & mine illustrate that beautifully... For the exact same reasons that I'd try to convince you (which means: anyone using this BBS) that pouring acetone in the gas is a BAD idea, or that having your tires filled with Nitrogen is a waste of time & money, or that putting magnets around your fuel lines is silly. I don't want to see Ford trucks damaged, and I don't want Ford truck owners to be regarded as gullible, and I don't think people come to this BBS to read BS - it's my belief they come here to get the TRUTH about how to maintain & improve their trucks, and this does neither. No problem - I've just been busy the past few days. I haven't had much time to post anywhere.
Thanks for responding.

Although I'm not sure how you managed to compare doing this to pouring acetone down your gas tank. I would say that this mod is more akin to programming yourself a new key in the ignition. I think most people of sound mind would agree that doing that could cause serious damage to your vehicle.

And to the bold above, once again, this mod is NEITHER of those.

And you don't want Ford trucks owners to be regarded as gullible? Well from the list of links that 700Hauler posted we aren't the only ones. And why do you feel the need to be the saviour/protector of Ford truck owners? I'd personally rather be a happy and content guillible man than one who has all knowledge yet always sees where others are wrong.

Now you're just being dramatic, like 700. I simply don't like being associated with mullets.

Is that another way of saying "Ignorance is bliss"? Is your real name Adam Savage? That statement is truly a "sheep" quote - you're undoubtedly a Democrat.

Say what? It doesn't cost a cent and it's not invasive at all.

I'd point out that this was likely a nice bit of sarcasm, but you'd just accuse me of insulting yer intelligence again.

So... I won't.

Thats pretty much whats being claimed. No one said it adds x amount of horsepower. All people were saying was they felt a more responsive throttle, and it was said to actually do just what you said...adjust the WOT back to 100% as opposed to 85% or whatever it was some people were getting.
If you can improve the throttle response and make sure WOT was where it was supposed to be (when maybe it wasnt before), Then wouldnt your "performance" change? I believe so. Horsepower is not increased, but there would be an increase in performance.

Thanks for the sarcasm. Welcome to the site....But don't try this procedure. If you do, you will be regarded as gullible and when your not watching someone will pour acetone into your gas tank, fill your tires with nitrogen, and if you are not already a Democrat, you will become one.
There is only one man that knows the truth about this idea, but his attempts to save people from making fools out of themselves has been futile. Don't drink the Koolaid, all of those people who feel a difference when doing this are fools! FOOLS I tell you!
You've been warned.

Geez now you warn me.
I tried it. Maybe noticed a difference, maybe not. But I still have to make those other 2 payments of $39.95, so I think I got screwed.
