MY 97 F150 4.6 has an off idle miss with the check engine light on . Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know what that means. Off idle ? It has a miss when it's not running?

Your also typing in bold. Means your yelling.... - @ someone ?

For now, get it scanned and post the #'s .

I suspect you get a miss when you just increase RPM above idle? As jbrew said if your getting a code get it scanned and it should point you to a specific cyl thats missing or some other component issue. AutoZone and others will scan a code for free. Should be a simple fix...It usually is unless its my truck and then its something thats never been seen before..

- Chances are that someone has, somewhere. If not, it may be all in your head, who knows? I just take it apart to verify, one way or the other.

Part of this sounds like something my wife would tell me jbrew...I usually just turn the radio up and keep on driving. Codes don't do much for me but broken parts don't lie

Right! I hear yuh (I've used that line plenty lol) - Well, so, -that may be a Left brain thing then ? Iduno ? If so, it's only temporary, because the Right always wins.
