Heater not so hot!

So about a year ago I had a plastic piece in a air line crack. This piece also had coolant running through it so it caused coolant to go into my intake. I couldn't find the same part to replace it so i bypassed it with two separate hoses. But now I'm noticing that my hot air isn't as hot. the part was located, if your looking from the front of the truck under the hood, at the back left area of the motor. What is that part called? and am I right in thinking this is the issue?

do u mean a vacuum line? if the vacuum lines r not working properly meaning that they have a leak, your doors in the dash wont work properly.

98f150Buck,

Is it attached to the the PCV valve or the throttle body? Are the coolant hoses about the diameter of a pinky finger? If so they are used to direct coolant to the PCV system to keep it from freezing. They will not affect your heat in any way. I would suspect that your blend door is not functioning properly.

dnjsyl,

With out vacuum the system defaults to defrost to clear the windows but you will still get hot air.
