Pressure in cooling system, losing coolant

1998 4.6L 106,000 Miles.
Engine overheated in August, water gushing from reservoir cap, tried flushing and refilling, same problem ocurred. Mechanic replaced water pump and thermostat, all seemed fine, then overheated again. Detected gas in the coolant so replaced radiator and head gaskets. New gasket set, bolts, heads skimmed and tested all replaced. (£1800!)

Have done 30-40 miles in truck, temp is good but have noticed a trickle of water from cap again! Any suggestions?

Make sure the degas bottle ( reservoir) bottle is not overfilled there is a full line about midway up on the bottle if you are over it when cold that could be the problem. To much and it will leak coolant as normal pressure is generated while driving. The cap maybe defective as well and that can allow to much pressure to build causing leakage. It may have been overfilled after the work was performed. Good luck.

Ordered a new cap, fitted it and have now done 500+ miles with no new leakage.
Thanks
