Idle and acceleration

I'm starting a new thread for this as I high jacked someone elses. Sorry about that.

I replaced the air idle control valve due to a bad idle. It helped out a lot! Still getting occasional rough idle. I changed out the throttle position sensor and now idles even better. Now when the gas peddle is pushed down hard, the truck spits and sputters, check engine light comes on. I let up on the peddle, engine acts normal and check engine light goes out.

Pulled the spark plugs. All were clean like new. Wires appear to new as well.

What about the throttle position sensor? Are they adjustable? Is there a quick and simple way to adjust 'em?

Anyone live nearby in Arizona?

If the check engine light has come on then you should have a code that will lead you in the direction of the problem. Autozone and some others will read the code for free. Try cleaning the MAF and then disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect and try running the engine again.

Sounds like a Mis-fire. When's the last time you changed your plugs/COPs?

BTW
Thanx for starting a new thread.

I'm also assuming that this is on a 1992 f150 5.0?

Any dtc codes?

Do you have a way to scan or read them?

Some other possiblities........

Distributor cap and rotor.

Distributor module.

Map senser.

Fuel pressure regulator.

Fuel filter.

O2 sensers.

Leaking injector.
