5.4 cold start question

My 98 5.4 w/200k miles sits for a few days when im gone to work=

when i start it it has a knock for around 5 sec. But after that its fine and runs like a bat out of hell. Is this a 5.4 thing or a major concern?

the knock is because every bit of oil has drained out of the engine from sitting.
nothing to worry abt. you probably have another 200k to go on that motor.

Spend the extra buck or two for the Motorcraft filter that's probably sitting right next to those Frams at Walmart.....

Never run a Fram on a Ford. Their anti drain back tube clooapses and you have no oil staying on top.

Another Fram story! LOL

Motorcraft, NAPA Wix, or Purolater Premium Plus filters here, with the preference to Motorcraft. Fram filters are known well around the mechanics I talk to as the 'Orange Can Of Death'. Many mechanics will not use them.
