Spark Plugs

Where exactly is the best place to be to see the spark plugs on my 4.6L engine? Above the engine or under it. Dang if I can see 'em?

My engine may not have them...

All I see above the engine is valve cover. Below it I see manifold. I can't even find plug wires?

You better take it to a mechanic. There are no sparkplug wires. Each plug has it's own coil, called appropriately Coil on Plug. Under each coil is a plug down in the recessed area.

They are best seen above the motor. And would be above the valve covers. There is no spark plug wires on your truck, its going to be a coil on top of the plug with a round head plugged into a wire harness. Remove the bolt on it and pull it out and the plug is down below there..

Thanks Guys.

Fascinating stuff!

My last 4.6L engine (1997 model) had coils and wires up front.
