The 97 is pre power improved. The 2000 is power improved. He must use the power improved intake with the power improved cyl heads and likewise Pre PI intake with Pre PI cyl heads only as well. There is no mixing or matching between PI and Non PI. Take care.

How do those work with the intake gaskets? Do you have two sets or is the gasket material molded into the adapter? Also are the adapters cost effective as compared to getting a used PI intake? Just curious, thanks

you only use one set of gaskets (the PI gaskets)...

it all depends on the person making the purchase to decide it's cost effective for him/her

also many mustang guys have used epoxy and a dremel and used NPI intakes on PI heads (ask jbrew he found it interesting himself)

Thanks tarajerame that site answered all my questions on the adapters. I have done the grind and glue before (once) but hesitate even mentioning it here when there is already so much confusion regarding the interchangability of pre PI and PI components. People can get into even more trouble using a die grinder lol. Take care.
