More power :)
when i said simple i really should have said "not outrageously expensive" like a supercharger. i'm an auto mechanic so doing the mods myself won't be too big a deal. my truck is always kept up on maintenance items, but plugs/wires is definitely something that needs to be done. i have the parts, just haven't had a chance to get them put in yet.
i understand that a combination of parts will be needed to notice an improvement. i guess what i'm really asking is what i should be looking at with a budget of around $800-900 that will get me the most gains.

might want to look into regearing your truck
Well thanks for all the input. For the time being I've decided to do the responsible thing and pay off some credit card debt with the money I have. It won't really put a dent in what I owe but it'll go a long way toward getting nmyself back on track financially. Not exactly the most exciting way to spend 1000 bucks but it needs to be done lol.

just out of curiosity, where are you finding a used supercharger for $900? all the ones i found were upwards of $3k. even used.
I don't even have 3 k into my ATI kit, and it's completly upgraded
I even peiced together a Lightning eaton conversion for about $1200
in the classifieds on here a guy sold a paxton that wouldv'e fit on your truck for about $800 a few weeks ago

i have a super 50 on my truck. don't really like it. newsflash for you. not everyone likes the same things. that's why they make vanilla AND chocolate.
So these intake manifolds have a blend valve? Reason I am asking, is I did the Seafoam treatment, where you pour it in the brake booster vacuum line, and let it burn it out.
Well, I am STILL seeing that cloud of smoke 1500 miles later. Could there still be some seafoam in the intake? And everytime I start it, I only get a little bit?

Actually I think you are suppose to let the vacum pull the seafoam into the intake not pour it in. I would think thats possible though. You could remove the throttle body and adapter and take a look inside the lower intake/plenum.

The first thing I would put on your list is to have your injectors cleaned professionally. I had it done after I bought my truck (172k mi) and noticed a large improvement in power. Also, it only cost about $90. Gotts mod is another cheap one I'd do, along with a K&N filter.
Yea, there's wide variety of Fartmaster's that don't Flow. - Old news really.
What Flowmaster has in their favor is sound, they due sound good. I ran a 50 race series (not the SUV series) for awhile and liked the sound. I ran the 50 with stock manifolds, no rear cats, - just the forwards and the truck (5.4L) sounded just like the old Mustang GT's @ take off.
But, I pull a trailer and use to move/place heavy trailers at events. Needed all I could get down low. The Magnaflow made my job allot easier.
