When was the last time the plugs and wires were changed? Are the plugs and wires genuine Motorcraft? Is the CEL on, and are there any stored codes?

Also try mid-grade fuel.

You need to post parts that you used or your not really helping us help you.

I used Motocraft plugs and wires for the change out, when I clean the MAF sensor just a little carb cleaner do the trick, Larry

Do *NOT* use carb cleaner on the MAF, use MAF cleaner or non-residue electrical contact cleaner.

No there are no codes, I did get the check engine light several weeks ago it was a missfire on number 5, but nothing since, I would have thought I would have gotten some with all of the studder, Larry

Sounds like high compresion, -might want to take it in for a Motor-Vac service at the dealer. It sure couldn't hurt. It will cost around $100, but it will clean the inside of the motor up. Might want to also start a regimen of using AutoRX, - that's the only additive that really works.

In other words, I think you have allot of carbon build up ie- tops of the pistons and the valves.

AutoRX is for cleaning the oil system, don't put it in the fuel. Use BG44K, Techron, or Gumout with Regane for that.
