4.6 Engine knock.

oh and it doesn't do it when just sitting in gear idling or when in park idling.

97-f150 first welcome to the site

to me this sounds like spark knock, what mods have you done if any. do you have a performance programmer or chip. try putting some higher octane gas in it, and see if that helps.

Yours sounds like spark knock ( detonaton). Could be carbon buildup as well. First, as Jimmy suggested try some higher octane and see if it stops.

Im good to go, well kinda. Its not a knock, its not a blet or anything. Its either A) My water pump is bad or B) My fan might be touching lightly on something.

blueoval hey try taking the belt off then start the engine if it goes away then its not the engine.
