I have a humming/whining noise @ idle and gets louder as i accelerate, and it gets louder/lower depending on rpm's and gear im in, im wondering if it could be my power steering pump iv had simular sounds in the past, but not exactly the same but they ended up being pulleys and what not.... im just wondering if it being the power steering pump would the noise change as the rmp's do?

 

I would bet it is your alternator, the pwr steering pump will whine more when you turn the wheel side to side. The alternator will indeed change w rpms. You can have it checked at pretty much any auto parts place, they usually don't charge.

 

sounds like alternator or somthing with bearings on the front pulleys somewere is takin a crap.

my truck made this kind of noise when i didnt have the muffler thing on my IAC but it went away with RPM was only at idle. im leaning towards a bearing on a pulley

You don't have an IAC, you have an electronic throttle.
