Timing chain guides

I found that I have a 5four instead of a 4six. Was chasing the wrong parts. The guides look exactly like the ones on the 4six. Are the later models "new and improved"? lol The build date is '00. The old ones ran for 150,000 miles. This is an ultra low budget repair, will it make that much of a difference?
