quick question: C.O.P. boot issue

I’m doing a spark plug change on my 06 5.4 3v, upon removing # 8 the boot slipped my grasp and I pulled the coil and the "spring" going from the coil to the plug.... No boot. I finally managed to remove the boot, and it just looks like it just slips back on the coil.

Now my question is, did I damage anything? It appears to be fine physically. I was thinking maybe I should put it on a plug I can easily remove if there is an issue. Anyone been in a similar situation?

Thanks
