hmm, I think your aiming more for a larger heat exchanger, not a inner cooler. That would be a no since the diesels run air to air heat exchangers, and i dont think they even run an inner cooler so to speak.
If you want better IAT drops, look into a large heat exchanger or radiator and make your own mounts for it.

turbo's and majority of centrufigals use an air to air intercooler

majority of positive displacement superchargers use a water to air, and yes if you go the lightning swap route then either an upgraded heat exchanger (the one under the grill) or a Killer Chiller is recomended...

Here's one. https://www.f150online.com/forums/su...swap-sale.html

I think the one Stoffer is talking about, the guy(John) is putting it on his truck.

Most guys run an Avco H/E. It's an upgrade from the stock one.

You may find it cheaper,,,,so shop around.

those also have more than 10 degree of overlap meaning you loose boost with them. i got rid of mine and got blower cams just for that reason

if your looking to make in the 600hp range.. stick with the stock cast 5.4 crank if that is what is in the engine you are getting. no use in dropping money on a heavier forged crank if your not going to be making enough power to break the stock one. less weight means the engine will spin up faster and get to the power quicker. get a nice set of I or H beam rods. Ross or Manley/Eagle pistons. ive seen too many broken mahle pistons. ie Neal, Built, and Boss all cracked their mahle pistons.

I am pretty sure most of the early 5.4's had forged cranks and a few of the later oned did too. You really cant go wrong with any of the aftermarket h/e's, I have yet hear of anyone complaining about a certain brand. For rods, pistons, ect the cheapest place i have found is paschalperformance and jlp after that. I had a local machine shop tell me that he orders all his 5.4 stuff through jl because he is selling it cheaper than he can buy it. Then i was playing on paschal's website and seen their prices are even lower than jl's.

Cool

HI!... Just a correction. I never broke/cracked any MAHLE pistons. I had 3 get damaged when several pieces of broken cast valve guides got sucked into the engine. That was FOX LAKE's fault.
