Putting a LS6 in my F-150

Personally, I would love to do the same thing, only in my mustang. Those of us on this site who are actually grown up, it's no big secret that LSx motors out perform anything Ford has ever put in their "flagship" vehicles.
Nothing Ford has ever done can compare to the power available for the LS platform. Parts are inexpensive for the LS compared to Ford, the LS heads flow 10 times better than any stock Ford head and the quality is hands down better. IMO, the perfect truck would be a LS motor in a Ford body and frame with a Dodge truck transmission.

Buck50....Keep us updated and good luck with the build.
There is a reason GM has to keep upping the displacement on the ls engines to be able to keep up. Take the S-197 Mustang platform for example. Off the shelf SCT tuner, X-pipe and exhaust, CAI and gears and with an automatic she'll run 8.20's-8.30's all day long. Try doing that with a ls Camaro (that even weighs less and more cubic inches) without changing the heads, cam and intake, and still would have to be tuned and full exhaust. Even the new Camaros are only a tenth quicker in the quarter than a stock Stang GT, and with a lot more engine.
Show me an ls motor that has made over 2300hp on a single power adder, especially sporting only 282ci and bone stock cobra crank, stock Navigator heads on gas, not alcohol. Aeromotive has a 5.4l that has been destroked to 320ci on a single power adder on gas, and makes in excess of 2500hp.

Oh please, we're not talking about power adders here, we're talking stock Ford based heads and motor vs. stock LS heads and block. Anyone can add power adders and up the ante, my main comment was that the LS heads outperform anything that Ford has ever produced and put on, on the assembly line.
Don't get me wrong, I bleed Ford blue as does my whole family. I will never drive anything but Ford, but that doesn't change the fact that the LS platform is far superior in flowing and performance than Ford's entries.
Heck, while we're at it, can anyone tell me why Ford sticks a twin turbo charged 365hp V6 into a SHO Taurus while the Mustang continues to fall behind the Camaro? Ford's better idea my a$$.
What happened to the opening poster?
