Good one man! - Well, I know what you meant. ~ I guess that's what puts me the "smart" side of that. Sorry for your luck.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the cops that Ford sells, but it seems to me the price for ONE of them is about the same as a FULL SET OF 8 from the mentioned Ebay sellers - and the ones on Ebay have a LIFETIME WARRANTY - which the ones from Ford do NOT.

I think ist's following me , or somethin ...? - But yea ,- so will your Wallet.

Global Automotive sells THE SAME coils (COP systems only) that Motorcraft does. The SAME, exactly the same coil markings boots and hot stamped. - The difference is the price and warranty.

UneekSupply is a fairly new at this, but I've heard that they sell the OEM's as well. I haven't confirmed Uneeks personally myself, however, this info came from a reliable source.

All you have to do is type "Misfire" or any of these -PO307, PO304, PO305, CEL Flashing in the "ENGINE" forum (only) under tools and you'll get confirmation.

If you are not having problems with your stock coils, then why would you change them? I'm still running my originals at 300,000++ miles. COP's are something that doesn't fall under preventative maintenance like changing your fan belt. Besides, you will get a CEL if one goes bad (same as O2 sensors). Then change it.

The odds of all 8 going bad at one time and leaving you stranded are astronomical. Unless your truck burns up or gets hit by lightning or something...

You can get 8 coils on E-bay for the price of 1 from the dealer and it appears they are manufactured at the same place. $75 for a whole set. You have to replace the plugs while you got the coils off why not just replace them? The dealer recommends new boots when changine coils (who knows what the dealer wants for a set of those bet its more then $75)
changing out the coils really isnt that expensive and it just makes sense.

Why not replace your drive shaft and your steering wheel too while you're at it. That makes about as much sense to me.

You can throw money at anything, but it doesn't necessairly make it better. Especially somthing that isn't prone to failure, and has 7 backups. But if it makes you sleep better, I guess its $70 well spent.

The dealer dosent need to take off the drive shaft to replace the spark plugs and nor the steering wheel. Plus you factor in the parts the dealer wants you to replace that COME on a new set of coils.

for someone who is very good about maintenance may not have to do all the cop's but someone who goes 100000 miles on a single plug change or uses the wrong plugs or forgets the dielectric grease will most likely need new coils eventually. but i agree, if you know what your doing then there shouldnt be any need for all new coils, but s*** happens, and when one does go bad it makes more sense to pay 80 bucks for all 8 instead of spending that on just 1 motorcraft.- thats just a no brainer. hell you could buy the whole set and sell each of the extras for 15 bucks a piece(or more).
