Performance coil packs

I have a 2003 F-150 4.6L with 82k. I am contemplating getting new coil packs. Not having issues now but coming up on 100k soon. An ounce of prevention and all that crap, anyway does anyone have any good advice as to which brand gives you the best bang for your buck and maybe share your positive negative experience in replacing stock coils with performance ones? I am not a pro but am pretty knowledgable and have enough common sense to take this on. Thanks.

You won't ever have to worry about the stock coils bottle-necking your performance. Plus, aftermarket coils are unreliable compared to the Motorcrafts.

My mechanic says they replace those fairly often .Mine was replaced at about 40,000 miles. When it goes just replace it with Ford or NAPA [they may be the same].

For the price, replace them with DG508's from Global or Uneek on Ebay. A full set of 8 is only about 80 bucks - what you would pay for ONE coil at the dealer or 2 parts house coils.

Is the web site Global.com? Thanks everyone for the input. I may stick with the Motorcraft coils after researching the others.
Pasenger side coils seem easy enough, driver side looks a little nightmarish...LOL

What is teh website? I looked and could only find them at around $48.00 for one. If I could get a set for 80 to 100 I would jump on it.

Ford What? Trucks ! Hell Yes!!

CoilOverPlug (COP's) ? Nah, Ford doesn't manufacture those.

_____________

The smart/ cheaper / reliable way is Ebay this time - Global Auto or UneekSupply (just use one on those two ebay stores) for DG508's.

Yes they are reliable. Many here have used them with good results. Better then most "performance" coils..

coils

May need them sooner than thought. Having intermittent misfires with no code coming up. Figured it was probaly the fuel filter ( Hadn't changed it for20k or so ) so I replaced it. Ran smooth for half day then today it stareted acting up again. My buddy has the latest programmer/tester for Ford vehicles so he may be able to get some infdo for me on what is going on.
