Coolant change?

I have searched the forum and viewed many ideas concerning coolant maintenance. My questions are 1.If distilled water is so important why would you flush the system with tap water that can not be completely removed? 2. If the system is working properly is it OK to just drain and refill?

I dont use distilled water. There are chenicals in antifreeze to soften the water. I use a wet dry vac to suck the water out of the reservoir. I use a funnel shove the wet dry vac on there goosd and it suck pretty much all the water out of the system (I do have a pretty powerful vacuum)

How does the vac get the water out of the block? Will it remove it where the lower radiator hose connects to the engine?

Take off a hose so the vacuum pressure can pull the water through a small one. works for me. I get almost all of it that way.
