Yea , the coil doesn't have a clip AFAIK. - It's a male connector. The locking clip is on the harness connector. It's like that on the injectors as well, so when/if it breaks, you don't need to replace coil/injector - just the harness connector.

Anyways, that's what confused me.

Now he may be talking about the bushing ear on the coil itself. I've seen those break from over tightening.

I've never done that before

Yea, I store a few sockets down there as well. I clean the valley out once in awhile, -more so when the timing gets a little goofy. It's nothing to find a couple 8 & 7mm sockets bouncing around the knock sensor.

My best find was my little 1/4" Snap-on ratchet.

Thanks for the immense amount of help Jbrew. I did mean I broke the clip on the harness which keeps it connected to the coil. Looks like electrical tape or zip ties lol. I used motorcraft plugs so those should be good and I gobbed them with dielectric grease.
Good to know that the clips are replaceable! I'll do the fuel filter now - been probably 20K+ miles on the 1 filter.
I have a feeling with a clogged fuel filter in addition to the fact that the 1 clip may have never been securely on the coil and was jus riding the connection - that may have been the cause of my issue. I cleared the CEL and then pulled each individual plug from each coil and they all kicked down without the CEL going off again, so it sounds like they are working properly.

Thanks again everyone, I'll keep you posted.

No problem. Yea , just don't grease the coil spring ends, where they contact the plugs. They definitly need a good contact their. If theres not! - She may try to buck you like some kind of crazy ~

...After some serious gasoline in both eyes and the nose and a few bloody knuckles!

Few hours later I returned to finish the job, blew through the old fuel filter and man was it clogged. It was from what I can tell the fuel filter from atleast 50k+ miles ago. Got the new shiny one on and put the fuel pump fuse back in, started her and RAAWWWR!! It came alive immediately. No cranking, no hesitation... started perfectly. I took it up Zane Grey mountain(A mountain very close by that jumps from 2900ft elevation to nearly 7200ft in just a few mile stretch) with the A/C cranked on, all windows down and roughly 80% throttle the whole way with a few random changes to try and stress her.. ran glorious. Infact I will go as far to say that it had more power and throttle response in climbing that with the A/C then before the symptoms showed up at all on flat surface with no A/C.

Note to everyone else under their truck, wear protective goggles like your owners manual tells you. Even after depressurizing the system and pulling the fuse and running it till it cuts out... I STILL GOT A FACE FULL OF GAS. The gas coming out of the filter was brown, and the housing was rusted...

On a different note, my throttle position is at 18% idle and pulls 1.3~lbs/min of air w/ temp at roughly 89f. Throttle at 70~% is about 14.5lbs/min of air, 100% throttle throws the pull to over 21lbs/min of air and shut downs the scanner lol.
Long term fuel trim was -4.5% at 70% throttle.

Are these right?

Thanks again for all the help.
