4.6 Power
Why on earth would you want to take a 6000# truck over 95 mph?
I can understand wanting a bit more get up and go around town and for passing. Going with gears, tuning, CAI, and exhaust will definitely help. Since you don't have 4x4 the gears will be a bit cheaper, around 800 installed seems to be the going rate around here. Tuning should run you about 500, CAI 250, and exhaust it depends on the set up you go with. Just don't expect to be doing massive burn outs and flying down the freeway at 130 mph. **** like that is just immature.

what? hold the brake down to the floor and hold the gas down to the floor and your tires/tire will spin thats a brake stand lol 4.6 motorcycle
agreed
just hold the brake enough to hold it still not to the floor. if you hold it too hard then it'll never break the tires loose.
ive never done it in my truck and dont want to lol
it'll spin tires if you do a brake stand.
custom tuner
cai(you must have this with a custom tune or you'll run lean)
straight through design muffler(if yours is a chambered style)
electric fans
gears
and stay on top of maintenance(best thing you can do)
Adding the taller tires (having seen your other post regarding your mpgs) has contributed in this lack of power feeling too... You've effectively changed your rear end gear ratio to an even higher one, so if you have 3.55 gear now, the taller tires are making the truck think it has something like 3.31's or so now... This just bogs you down even more and the 4.6's need to rev to get into their power band.
Plus, the '06 F150 is a bigger and heavier truck then the older models and I don't know if they had the 3v 4.6 in your year??

the 3v 4.6 is an option for 2009 and 2010 so far

The 4.6 is a dog in the older models too! ha, ha!! (ok, all you 4.6 owners out there can hold back your comments!! I'm just busting your ***** on it! Plus, you 4.6 guys must have a sense of humor, since you got such a 'joke' of an engine in a #5000 truck in the first place!)
