Brew- I don't think Wally world sells the full synthetic, only the semi. I have used that since I got the '04. I was there on Fri. and they have the 5 qt. of semi for $11.50. Can't beat that with a big stick! I have used Castrol in almost everything I've owned, cars, trucks and motorhomes for about 25 yrs (except for the '04) and if it wasn't for the MC semi being so reasonable, I would definitely be using Castrol. That stuff keeps an engine like new inside!

Yea, the inside of my motor is clean as hell. I thought it might be because of the Motor Vac service, it might be because of the Castrol. Probabaly both help.

Looks real good under the valve covers tho

I planned on switching to Motorcraft with the next truck, but Idunno. This one is still running good the way I've been doing it. - Knock on wood.

Castrol isn't cheap tho, I just use the blend.

I'll stick with my $23 oil changes at the dealer with MC 5w20 synthetic blend and a MC filter.

Nope brew, I'm not opposed to Semi or full synth. but all I've ever used is Castrol dino. Good stuff, that Castrol, whatever type you use. I have never used it in anything that it didn't keep the inside absolutely like new. My motorhome is a P-30 chassis (454) w/54k mi. and it is like new inside and I never have had to add any in a 3k mi. change. Amazingly, it even stays real clean in the MH. I used Havoline for over 20 yrs. Used it exclusively in a Bonneville with a 403 (yep, Olds) that I bought new. At about 60k mi. I pulled the engine to replace freeze plugs ???, and the dadgummed thing had a lot of varnish inside (w/3k mi. oil changes), needless to say, I left Havoline behind and switched to Castrol and have never been happier. '04 is the only thing that hasn't had Castrol in that time.

Thanks for that heads up I don't like paying the outrageous dealership prices here in town for the oil. It is $7 and some change for a quart here. I will definitely be going there from now on thanks for the heads up.
