My truck does about 14mpg stop & go, 15 - 16 average, and 18.2 - 19 highway. These specs are based on easy driving and usually 5mph over the limit.

I believe the 5.4 does, yes. The low end trucks still use the 4 speed. The high fuel economy (SFE) is a 2wd screw with a 4.6 3V and the 6 speed and a 3.15 axle.

Your not driving in 4wheel driver are you. Wow only 11 on the hwy, does yours have the digital message center, if so once you get up to crusing hit the reset button and it should recalculate the mpg for hwy, if your only getting 11 somthings wrong. There should not be a break in period were your mpg will be that bad and then go way up. I bought my 08 lariat brand new, had 0 miles on it and first time i took it on hwy i was getting 21 and that was completly stock.

What im talking about is when you get up on the hwy for more then 5 mins and once your cruzing at speed like 65 get the message center to show mpg, then hit reset it should jump up real high then down to were what you are getting while driving. If you are doing this and it keeps going back down to 11 mpg you ahve something wrong. I have a too box on back as well and getting 21 on hwy doing 70. If you cant get your message center to show more then 11 mpm on hwy somethings wrong with truck or the message center is not calibrating.

Yea , that's terrible. I averaged 16 mpg @ 76-79 mph 2200 rpm. If I could only do 65 :o - 343 miles to work, one way last year lol. Still had almost a 1/4 tank left, but I have the 3 door SuperCab.

From Miami to Boca Raton and back, 2000 5.4 Lariat, 3.55 rear end, 2wd, with Magnaflow and a K&N element. I got 19.0. Kept it at 60-65. 130 miles, with about 10 miles of traffic lights, and a couple of miles of stop and go because of a wreck on I-95. I am very pleased.
