Thumbs up It is going to happen

Well I have started on my 1997 F150 to 2005 V10 conversion. I will try and keep track of what has to be done. I do have a link to pictures and will have them posted as we make progress. I am also going to replace my cab mounts and add a body lift. Wish me luck
I will have plenty of beers when done. or maybe during.

Awesome job with the photo gallery. I learned alot just by viewing your pic's.
Hopefully you can upload some video when it's all done. Good luck with the project.

what transmission will you be using? if you are going to swap to the E4OD/4R100, you will need the longer 7700 series torsion bars for the torsion bar crossmember to clear the transfer case, if this is a 4WD truck.

Looks like a great project.

Let us know what issues you run into along the way. I saw the dent in the roof from the cab removal, too bad. I hope you go with some heavier torsion bars for the added weight in the front.

I am using the 05 ECM, the original trans, we will see how it holds up.
I am planning on getting the heavier Torsions, I have the code 6 in 1997, What was used on the F250LD 7700# What code???
The dent was trying it with a single chain hoist. We had to regroup.
It has a Superlift kit in it now.
I am 46 and wont do alot of REAL crazy things, will tow some 4wheelers in an enclosed trailer, some hunting and a little mudding.

even the 3vs had the 4r100 till 2006 I believe then they updated to a newer one, 5 speed auto maybe, but thats when they updated it in the diesels anyway.

The motor is setting in now. I hope to start the wiring this weekend. Here is a pic of the ECM that I drew up in Solidworks, I will post the pinouts and what plug is for what when I get it figured out. I haven't had a chance to get the diagrams or pinouts yet.

The Super Dutys got 3v gas engines and the 5R110 at the same time so the 05 would have had a torqueshift unless it was a manual trans truck. Diesel SDs had the torqueshift in 03.

I'll be interested to see how this swap works. Keep the updates coming!

It was an automatic truck, but when I run the computer thru the interchange it comes up that the 5.4 and 6.8 use this computer. Didn't the 5.4 use a 4r75 then?
