Both the 6.8 and 5.4 Super Duty would have had the Torqueshift in 05. Any chance you could get the trans also? It's very close if not the same size as an E4OD/4R100 so it should bolt right in if you use the long torsion bars and move the crossmembers. I'm not sure if your t-case has the right input spline count or not...I guess you could always use the SD case and modify your driveshafts. Geez, listen to me spending your money! I'm sure there is a way to reuse your trans, maybe have the PCM tuned to eliminate trans functions and run a stand alone controller. I just don't see the PCM playing nice with your transmission. A well used 4R70W probably won't stand up to 450 lb/ft of torque very well either which makes the 5R110 a better option in my opinion. But like I said, your money, your truck, and I will be very interested to see how it turns out. Good luck

that's very interesting but I think it's an error, I think theyb meant 5.4 and 4.6 use the same computer but a re pin / tune on my current ECM would make a V-10 swap easier in my wife's expy

the 6.8 will pull it around just fine and if you ever need power a procharger, magnacharger or turbo will be an easy addition

Well, the motor is in, the cab is back on. I had to put in new cab bushings as mine were smashed. I also put in a 3" body lift, it was a good thing too, as the intake would not have cleared without it. I had to take off a small tab on the back of the intake and massage the firewall just slightly. I also had to take off the tab on the side of the exhaust manifold for the steering shaft to clear. I used my motor mounts to bolt the engine in, we turne the right one upside down but still kept it on the right side. The left was just fine. I cut 2 1/2" off the lower radiator hose, engine side. I still have to extend one heater core hose, as the V10 has one tube up front. I also had to lengthen the hose from the degas bottle to the lower hose because of the lift. He should have pictures updated on the flicker link in the next day or two. Wiring will be the next issues starting soon. I put in the accelerator pedal also, Had to drill 2 new holes and remove the round tang from the top hole to get full pedal.
It has been fun so far, and I will enjoy the rest of it, I am kinda sick that way.
Wish me well,

Later Bryan

Would like to try and fire it up this weekend. Long work days so I don't get a lot of evening time for the truck.

Well it has been awhile since I posted. I do not seem to check in as often in the summer. It has been a busy one. I have it all running, am still working with Mike @ 5 Star Tuning, but it is running good. I got a Trans controller from Kevin @ Baumann Electronic controls. I have it shifting good also, still may tweak some shift points and pressures. I need to finish up my Electric Fan and Cruise Control. I may put in all new guages later, after gears, since the tach will not work which I already new about.
