Foam on oil cap
Foam on oil cap
Hi all-
I have a 2001 F-150 with 5.4 V8. I've noticed over the past couple of years, that during the cold winter month's when I change oil, there is a build up of foam on the underside of the oil cap. I don't notice it in the summer, but just yesterday I noticed it. I'm not using any coolant; the fluid level stays constant. Just curious if this is normal or not. Thanks in advance.

I have the same on my 2004 I just pull the oil cap off once a week and wipe it clean I also wad up a piece of paper towel and stick it down the tube on the valve cover to suck up the moisture thats in there

IMO that would be a waste of time because its not like i can stop the moisture from getting in my engine.
I do the same thing
I hate that it does that in the winter. I don't know if it helps anything or not, it still runs thru the PCV system, but you can get a in line separator to keep from going any further.
