EMERGENCY! 08 wint start after unhooking battery and fuse box!

I was doing car audio work on my truck today (like I have been every day for weeks) and after done with todays tasks, I went to start my truck and it will not start.

Here is what was done today:

1. Unhook negative battery cable.
2. Unhook main ground wire to fuse box.
3. Unplug a total of 5 harnesses from the fuse box, ALL of which were unique.

Thats it! Everything is now CORREECTLY hooked back up.....

But....

When I try to start the truck....it keeps turning and turning and turning over, but it sounds as if it is not getting fuel.

I checked the fuse for the fuel pump and it is good....no issues.

It was too dark to try anything else and I was parked at my friends house and he and his wife wanted to leave to go to VDay dinner. Understandably.

There are NO error lights showing on the dash. All lights, windows, power door locks..etc. work properly.

What could be wrong. I going to do a search now but I am in PANIC mode. My truck is parked in a not so friendly neighborhood with thousands of dollars worth of audio equipment sitting out in the wide open (in the truck but easily viewable).

ANY help or suggestions you could offer would be great.

Thank you,
Kevin

I am not with the truck at all. I am sorry but I am a newbie....what does a fuel pump "sound like"? When the ignition is turned over....the entire truck shakes because it feels like it is being starved for fuel.

But here is more:

If I let go of the key....lift foot off gas pedal....the truck continues, all own its own to keep turning the engine over and over. It wont stop. Well not at least for 20 seconds or so. It did this multiple times. I know that is not good so I try for a second or two and then turn key off. As new, the truck would stop attempting to turn the engine over if you let go of the key.

It is like it has a life of its own.

you'll hear like a whine or high pitch whistle towards the back of the truck. i'd recheck everything you did with the wiring. just to be sure. may have a contact issue

Why did you unplug all that for audio work the negative cable would have done. I have installed many systems without any trouble with just the negative terminal disconnected. Have you tried unplugging everything again and replugging everything back thats the only thing I can think of, also check the fuses.

You can't crank them more than 5 seconds straight. The PCM will kill the injectors if you do.

Disconnect the battery (BOTH sides). Check-

As said fuses, also, the inertia might have tripped/ check for reset. Then

Reconnect the battery after 20 -30 minutes, Positive cable first.

Okay I can answer everyones questions...but i also have pics. I just cant upload them because I dont have my camera USB cable.

Damn.

Okay first. I HAVE unplugged, rechecked...replugged....unplugged..replugged. Everything is firmly connected. It could be a fuse....but its not the fuel pump fuse.

I did not hear anything unusual from the rear of the truck like a fuel pump, but then again I was not listening for a whine.

Next...why?

Well I had to drill a hole into the footwell to run speaker cable. I am 100% positive I did not hit anything (wiring) during my drilling. I checked that.

I was forced to disconnect the battery AND the fuse box ground. I did NOT disconnect the battery positive. That may be part of the problem. I figured with the battery ground off I was safe for no more than I was doing. But then again....I disconnected it because I was working NEAR the fuse box...not because I was moving it around. I later deciided I HAD to move the fuse box temporarily.

The fuse box, and several wires were directly in the way of my big honking drill....(I was drilling with 1/2" bit!).

The good news is the drilling, speaker holes...and etc look awesome and very professionally done.

But of course....having your truck not start is obviously no minor issues.

You can do all the car audio installs on an F150 you want...but to run six individual 14 ga. wires to the doors (each door)....I have no idea how you would do it without drilling new holes. I have an install thread here:

http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...w-install.html

If you want to read all about it. I have a specific thread started here, abotu how to run the speaker wire with the molex plug being an obstacle....if you want to read all about that...you can find that dicussion here:

https://www.f150online.com/forums/sp...lug-issue.html

Do I have a remote start....yes I do.....hmmm now there is a thought. Tell me what you are thinking....how does that come into play?

Everything is fine with my install....but I obviously screwed up with the fuse box. Just trying to figure out what!

Behind the kick panel in the passenger side footwell is a switch that senses the inertia of a crash and disables the fuel supply to the engine. If it's tripped, the truck will turn over but will not start similar to a dead fuel pump condition.

It's simple to reset. Do you have the owner's manual for your truck?

You gotta thank jbrew for that. He mentioned it up there somewhere

I'm not certain of the location... my truck is not the same generation as yours. But it's a logical thing to check. I hope that's it. Good luck!

When I say emergency...I mean it. Truck is already home (my friend was trying to find the issue while sitting outside his house while I was talkig to you all. He hit the fuel pump reset and while I was typing to you...he and his wife were driving it back to my house!

Maybe I am dumb ***...but I didnt know fuel pumps had reset buttons.

I guess I need to be reading the Owners Manual cover to cover hun?
