You can use a pinstripe removal wheel, you can put it in a drill and it'll take it right off with out harming your paint. I use them all the time for double sided tape on car mouldings. whats wrong with the goof off method?

 

Lift off adhesive remover works good.

 

Haven't tried Goof Off but Goo Gone spray gel won't touch it.
