VentVisor Removal

I've searched and can't find anything on removing these things. I've got the actual shades off but the two-sided tape is what I'm having problems with. Anyone got any suggestions on how to remove the tape from the doors after the shades are off?

Goof Off!
Go to your local auto parts store and get a 12oz. spray can of GoofOff.
It is a professional strength adhesive remover.Works great and will not harm your paint.
Just spray it on,,let it sit a little bit,,use a plastic type putty knife and scrape it off. Keep repeating that until it's all off,,,then just wash your truck.

Thank you for your replies. I got a bottle of Goo Gone spray gel and it's not really touched it. Is it anything like this stuff?

Looks like I'm gonna be trying GoofOff. Looks trashy right now driving around with remnants of double sided tape still on my doors.

your local automotive paint supplier has a 3M rubber wheel that will remove the tape residue and not hurt the paint. just install it on your drill and go to it.
i did mine in an hour (4 door supercrew )

As soon as I took mine off I kinda regretted it because they've been on there since about 2 months after I bought it and that was about 5 years ago. I'm debating on going with the in-channel visors that so many of the members on here have. It's a toss up for me but I'll probably end up putting another set back on. They were cracked and chipped anyhow from when I let someone else borrow my truck for a few days. Can't trust anyone lol. Gotta get this nasty tape off first though.

Not sure if you succeeded already, but the only way I know of to remove two way tape and decals is with fishing line. Yeah I know this sounds crazy, but it works - I use this method to remove emblems on expensive motorcycles.
You take the fishing line and wrap some line on each of your index fingers leaving approx 6-10 inches between your hands. Bring the 6-10 inch of line to the edge of the tape or emblem and the vehicle and move the line back and forth in a sawing motion. This does not damage the paint and it slowly cuts through the adhesive tape leaving only a slight sticky residue with is very easily removed with the goo gone or goof-off.
Let me know how you make out.
