Have'nt a clue who did it or why they would even want to change the bracket. I'll have to get the right bracket or use the part # that came off it.

My bad, I was thinking of height/width. Alright, I'm going to go have a look, I have some filters on the shelf and know they haven't changed from my model to yours - I'll take a pick of the bracket as well. BRB.

Called 2 different dealers this morning without telling them anything but what I needed was a fuel filter. Both said FG986B which is what's on the truck. All the local and online parts say FG872.

Yeah. They list them for Expy's, Vans, Lightnings and more. 5.4 or 4.6. I do have a 5.4. Anyway I got the FG986B today. Fit right in the bracket. Stumble is gone. It was so stopped up I don't see how it was runnin. Anyway I have the COP's and plugs to do the tuneup when I get to it.

By the way. I was under the truck checkin everything out and spare is gone. Whats the long black box next to the spare that has wires and a hose hooked to it?

Ran out of fuel for the torpedo heater and my bulb blew in my trouble light so I took it as abad sign and left it for tommorrow.

FWIW, you are confusing diameter with circumference. HERE is something to help you out a bit.

Glad to see you got it going!

I could read that stuff all day and still be clueless. Geometry was not understood in school, although I did pass, 20 yrs. ago.

Yeah I'm glad it was only the filter. Gives me some time to do the tune up. Sold my 07 today but I still have the 01. Payments were killing me in today's economy.

Another problem I think. Anyone know why the engine will jump from 800 to 12 or 13 revs briefly before going into reverse? Causes a clunk in the drivetrain when it does this. My other Fords didn't do it although they weren't this generation. Gotta cause wear in the joints after a while.
