I have no clue what a good price for a motor is, I was looking on Ebay and there was a 5.4 with 67K on it, came out of a 02 expidition. Has computer and wiring harness for 1400. Since its getting a new motor might as well look at going bigger.

There has got to be a place in Doyelstown/Wayne County/ Wooster area that will get you a rebuilt 4.6, as others have said, do you know of anybody who is a mechanic--or do you know somebody who knows a mechanic?

Careful with that... more to going bigger than just the engine, harness and computer. Different mounts, exhaust changes, Not sure about the fan/rad... among other things. Just food for thought if you are thinking of going that route.

I am a Barberton Hillbilly from way back. Used to date the graddaughter of the owner of Ruji's bar in downtown Doylestown. Spun doughnouts around the doughboy and even whizzed on the doughboy in the town circle. It is safe to assume alcohol was involved.

Regadless of the temperature us hillbilly's fixed our own wheels.

From the Magic City!!! How is life down there...I am just west of Strongsville...been to and through Barberton many times...

I would agree with thinking twice about puttinga 5.4 in there---too many other items that you would have to pursue, as well, and money is tight right now. Yo would have much more to replace than just the engine.

Yeah My buddys dads owns a shop thats who gave me that quote. Ive called a bunch of places but no one seems to have one. I was looking on craigslist theres a 4.6 for 650, was gonna go look at it. Is there anything special i need to know when looking for a motor, or is it just luck of the draw?

Now we all just get in troulble for loud trucks, blowing to much smoke, muddin, the cops in doylestown dont like that stuff to much. Someone put a skirt on the doughboy last year that was pretty funny.

So im still lookin for a motor, wanting to get my truck back.

me and Barberton parted ways in 1975 and I moved to Arizona. Spent many nights under cars in Barberton with salt and slush dripping on me. Don't like that cold weather anymore.

I gets a 110F in AZ- but hot weather has it advantages- 1 being the women don't wear alot of clothes.

Any modular engine will fit in the hole left by removing your engine. If you stick with an F-150 or Expi Pi engine, 1999 and newer, you can just bolt it back in. If you get an engine out of any other vehicle you will have to use your intake and exhaust manifolds. The only thing to make sure of is the bolt pattern of the flexplate. Windsor engines have 8 bolts and Romeo have 6.
