I'm gonna put this out there nice and simple

you have a 3 valve 5.4 engine, adding a cold air intake is proven way to make your truck run lean, the edge programmer is a canned tuner designed for a stock engine and since you've got the CAI and the edge you may have ruined your engine.
remove the CAI before you drive the truck anymore and do not reinstall it until you have a custom tune

People get confused with their terminology. You can do custom settings of things such as tire size, fuel ratio, timing, shift points, shift pressure, and a few more, but not real custom tuning. The Edge can not be custom tuned so it stays in compliance with California law. To get your Edge custom tuned, you send it to PHP and convert it to a Gryphon, then Bill can custom tune it. He can tune it to take advantage of your K&N CAI. Check them out at www.powerhungryperformance.com.

I would take it off before you ruin your engine, the k&n is notorious for running scary lean...you could really mess it up

Can't he fix that thru tuning ? I hope so, because I'm running scary lean at the moment and hoping that I can get it tuned in. That would suck having to take all the mods off and returning to stock. That doesn't sound right.

Do you mean take it off until your tuned for it maybe?

It's a 3 valve problem mostly - specially the first year 3 valves which is what you have (I think? No info!!) "Drive by wire systems" - There very picky and I'm surprised your not throwing codes.

Change it back to stock - If your lucky , it's not to late. I'm serious. That motor has to be tuned to set your trims right - per modification..You should always talk directly to a tuner before hand, they will say the same and set you up right.

Those 5fours 2004 + are under tuned from the factory IMO. - Even canned tunes can do those motors a world of good. I've beat stock 3 valves, but my a$$ is handed to me when their tuned/running an intake and exhaust. It's a different truck when their dialed in right.
