i have a code now i need help
i dont have a tuner if thats an aftermarket part. my truck is factory except for the stereo ,k&n air filter and rims. if theres no iac which i doubt cause i looked is there a way for me to correct this? no its not a heritage its the new body style. i shouldve waited a year or 2 before i bought this one but the deal was too good to pass up
Use the forum search feature, search for "p0506". I found 11 threads including this one, read them over, you should get some ideas. It might be a dirty MAF, it might be a dirty throttle body, it might be a defective electric throttle assembly, or it might need a PCM reflash.
EDIT: K&N air filter? Oiled filters can foul the MAF sensor. Get a can of MAF cleaner and clean it, and put a paper filter back in there.

just finished cleaning the throttle body. it wasnt hard at all, messy but not hard.i will try a paper filter and hope this corrects the problem.by the way i did not see an iac valve and i will try to find sum1 to reset my computer. thanks for the help guys
Just disconnect the battery with your lights turned on for a few minutes and that will resert the computer.
The 506 is common in the Mustangs - Guys have just rebooted the PCM and the code doesn't return.
I would clean the MAF sensor before rebooting - for sure!
