5.4L 3v COP - Global

Hi Guys,

I'm about to replace the plugs (runs rough, loss of power, hesitation) in my 2005, 80k miles, and after reading through the forums, decided to halt until I had a plug extractor set in hand. From the sounds of it, I'm gonna have a few busted plugs ! While I've got everything ripped apart I was going to replace the COP's if there was value in doing it. Global has a set with an angled boot for $ 70 - they don't list the correct engine. Uneeksupply has the same COP for $84 - they list the correct engine. The original coils have a straight boot, but the angle would sit above the head, so I don't think it would make a difference. I haven't received a reply from either source. Does anyone know for sure if these would work on my engine ?

Thanks

Can the factory COPs be purchased from a site like newfordparts.com?

Federal-Mogul sells an OE style COP-Boot, just the rubber boot and spring, for about $9 bucks each, Rock Auto is one place that sells them. 702460 is the part number for the 3V.

I'm curious about this. I have 3 sets of Motorcraft , 2 sets of Globals. Coil numbers are measured in resistance. Motorcraft DG491's test out @ 491 - 498. Motorcraft DG508's test out @ 508 - 509's. My old Global set test out @ 508 -511's and I just purchased a 10 pack of 508's from Global which are completely different. They say "GAMA" in white letters and are all black (my other globals are clear on top) - anyway 8 of those test out @ 530 - 540 . The remaining two test out @ 508. I'm running the 530/540 set and she's not skipping a beat.

Wonder why they don't sell these for the three valves.
