Oil level at lower hash marks after only 5000 miles?

I changed my oil about 5000 miles ago with 7qts of Royal Purple 5w-20 and a Motorcraft OE filter. Checking the oil today the level is already at the lower end of the hash marks. Is this normal for these engines?

Just curious, this is my first 5.4l.

My 2007 5.4 consumed 1/2 a quart at 3000 Miles running Mobil-1 5w-20, I suppose it's normal.......I make a habit of checking my oil every 2 weeks or so.

How much is a 1/2 in relation to the hash marks on the dipstick?

Yes, that's normal and nothing to be worried about.

Well I guess why I worried is I was planning to go to 10000 miles change intervals with the Royal Purple, if I continue at this rate it will be extremely low, correct? Or does it only consume the oil and then stop at some point?

Sorry for the "stupid" questions. lol

So if I want to go the longer interval, I just need to top it off? How much oil will bring it up to the upper part of the hash marks?

If you doing extended change intervals, & using Royal Purple, you still have to pull the DipStick from time to time & check your oil.........

yea the old f150s take 6 and the 04-06 take either 6 or 7 (6 is at the middle mark on the hash and 7 is at the top) and after that (the square air filters, not the round ones) take 7

I understand now I need to know how much I need to add. How much of the dip stick is equal to 1/2qt or 1qt?
